This API error indicates that the metrics and dimensions being requested cannot be used together. This usually happens when you are creating a custom report, and you added a combination of fields that the API rejects.
In Analytics Edge, the Google Analytics connector will usually show these incompatible fields in the list in a light grey colour (you can still select them). You must remove the incompatible fields for the query to run.
In other connectors, it may be necessary to remove one field at a time until the query works.
