When you first open the applicaton, you will be walked through the setup process. It starts with acceptance of the License Agreement and Privacy Policy.
Database Storage Locations
Then you specify where you want the primary and backup databases located.
Database Folder: The primary databases should be on a fast, local drive that is NOT subject to automatic synchronization, like a network share or local Google Drive folder. The process of synchronization can cause file lock-ups and possible data corruption.
Backup Folder: The product supports automatic backups after every data refresh, and the backups can, and should, be stored in a place that is backed up and/or available for team sharing.
Backup Copies: Backup files are date-stamped (database-20260601.db), so they will accumulate in the backup folder. By default, the application will keep only the 3 most recent backups of any database. Databases can get very large, and multiple copies add up fast. Watch this folder and reduce the number of copies if it starts to consume too much space.
License Activation
The application will auto-generate a license key good for 30 days. After that, you need to purchase a license to continue using the product. The license is for the computer; there are no account or usage restrictions.
